This limited edition Digital Acrylic painting reveals the playful and knavish naughtiness we experience when our jester controls our behaviour. It's made for the therapy room walls, or any environment where self-reflection or spiritual work is done.
Sometimes when we pray we feel like we send the prayer somewhere. Maybe to heaven, or to a higher power. Some of us feel the sense of a message from self to the Divine, and at the same time, to self, because all of our souls are a part of the Divine, the One Great Love.
I endeavoured to depict the predatorial energy of ridiculing ourselves and the inner threat it presents. Lewis, a spiritual friend, served as the model for this work, posing for it during a modelling session in Bristol. I used videography to document the pose and expression, then combined contemporary and traditional elements with digital acrylics and inks on my trusty laptop for this artwork.
