Resentment creates such distance between ourselves and others. But it also corrodes us inside and hands us a heavy burden to carry until we can resolve it.
I aimed to portray the bitterness of resenting others and the widening emotional rift it causes. Lewis, a close spiritual ally, posed for this painting during a session in Bristol as the model for the work. I recorded the pose and expression with videography, then blended modern and classical elements using digital acrylics and inks on my trusty laptop in this painting.
