To receive is to open ourselves. We have to make ourselves vulnerable, find a willing energy inside ourselves, and then turn ourselves toward the gifts.
I endeavoured to represent the grace of receiving spiritual gifts and the subsequent inner joy. This painting showcases James, a dear and spiritually connected friend, who posed with a playful spirit in our evening session in Bristol. I used videography to document the pose and expression, then applied digital acrylics and inks on my trusty laptop to harmonize contemporary and traditional aesthetics in this painting.
