This limited edition Digital Acrylic painting reveals the energy of 'Above', the Jungian concept of the masculine. It's meant to be displayed in a therapy room or anywhere dedicated to self-discovery and spiritual exercises.
Embedded in Greek, Native American, Maori myths, and even Mesopotamian poetry, we find the tale of Mother Earth and Father Sky as the origins of all life. Within us, there's both masculine and feminine energy, though some lean more towards one. Masculine energy is often described as stable and predictable, embodying willpower, clarity, and focus. It thrives on creating structures and rules to apply logic effectively.
My aim was to illustrate the defensive heart as we warn others and the subsequent emotional divide it might foster. This piece features Kevin, a cherished spiritual friend, who took part in an expressive modelling session in Bristol. I recorded the pose and expression with videography, and subsequently used digital acrylics and inks on my trusty laptop to blend classical and modern aesthetics into this artwork.
