We all compose ourselves from time to time, and the most effective composures truly require a shutting out of the exterior, the settling of inner calm and the connection with self.
I intended to depict both the inner calm of composing oneself and the settled stability it provides. For this painting, Lewis, a valued spiritual friend, modelled during a session in Bristol. I employed videography to capture the pose and expression, followed by digital acrylics and inks on my trusty laptop to meld modern and classical elements in this painting.
